Ken Perry, MSW, LCSW

Kenneth Perry, LCSW, is a licensed clinical social worker for A Better Way Home, Boise Idaho Hospice & Palliative Care organization, who received his graduate degree from Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana in 1977. He has held full-time employment, mostly middle-management and senior leadership, in both the public and private child and family welfare sectors. In addition, since 1978, Ken has maintained a part-time private psychotherapy practice. He currently works at Warm Springs Counseling Center, doing both evening and weekend sessions. In 1990, he received a Child Welfare League of America (CWLA) National Merit Award; “In recognition of outstanding leadership contribution, and dedicated service to children”.

Ken has also served as adjunct faculty at Boise State University, School of Social Work and he is published in the topic of foster care. Ken specializes in family systems work, with particular emphasis on adolescent developmental issues. He has long history of work in the adoptions arena, including treatment/developmental challenges unique to the birth parent(s), adoptee, and adoptive parents. Ken also has extensive experience in bereavement work, particularly with anticipatory grief issues.

Ken, a native Idahoan, has 5 children, ages 22-31. His wife, Joey (a Texas native), is in the banking business. For enjoyment, he loves to travel (both national and international), and going to the movies. He also has owned race horses and appeared in a movie with Tom Selleck (1978).
